CARNO COMMITEE WELCOME
Today we welcome Llanraeadr to Ty Brith.
Llanraeadr visit us today having had a very good start to the season. In this tournament they have seen off Saltney Town and Llanystumdwy and in the league they have picked up 19 points from a possible 21, scoring 29 in the process. They currently sit top of the league.
However we also go into today’s game on the back of a very impressive start. We have won all 9 of our games so far and in this tournament we have defeated two Tier 3 sides. We currently sit 3rd in the table on 15 points with 2 games in hand on today’s visitors.
The head to head in this fixture is non-existent in recent years so we do not know exactly what we will be facing. We hope it is our name in the hat for the next rounds draw but the visitors will have the exact same goal. Whatever happens, given both the teams start to the season, we are expecting to enjoy a very competitive game.

MANAGER NOTES
As a club, we are absolutely delighted with the way our season has started. The team has shown real character and resilience in winning all of our league matches so far, as well as progressing in every cup competition. It's been a pleasure to see the players rise to the occasion, working hard both on and off the pitch, and their efforts have certainly been reflected in the results we have achieved.
That said, we know that today’s fixture presents another tough challenge. Llanrhaeadr, like us, have enjoyed a very positive start to their season. We expect nothing less than a competitive, intense game, and it will require us to be at our best if we are to come away with another important result.

THE VISITORS
Llanrhaeadr Football Club: A Brief History
Llanrhaeadr Football Club is a Welsh football club based in Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, Powys. They currently play in the Central Wales Northern Division.
The home colours are blue shirts with blue shorts and socks.
The club was promoted to the Cymru Alliance in 2010–11 season and although finishing in the relegation zone secured survival in the 2011–12 season due to Neath FC becoming bankrupt from the Welsh Premier. In season 2012–13 the club appointed Daniel Stevens as manager, who used to manage Ellesmere Rangers FC. A proven fluency was brought to Llanrhaeadr with a number of young players brought in alongside the new manager. 2013–14 saw the club relegated having finished bottom of the Cymru Alliance with 16 points. Marc Griffiths was appointed as Manager and the club returned to The Alliance for the 2018–19 season after winning the Mid-Wales league in 2017–18. The club was relegated from the Cymru North at the end of the 2021–22 season. In May 2022 Michael Barton was appointed manager. The club was relegated from the Ardal North East League in the 23/24 season.

THE WELSH CUP
The FAW Welsh Cup (Welsh: Cwpan Cymdeithas Pêl-droed Cymru), currently known as the JD Welsh Cup for sponsorship reasons, is a knock-out football competition contested annually by teams in the Welsh football league system. It is considered the most prestigious of the cup competitions in domestic Welsh association football.
The Football Association of Wales (FAW) is the organising body of this competition, which has been run (except during the two World Wars and the COVID-19 pandemic) every year since its inception in 1877–78.
In the early years of organised football in Wales, football was very much the sport of north Wales rather than the rugby union playing south – the FAW was founded in Wrexham in 1876, and Wrexham remained the site of the FAW's head office until 1986; it was not until 1912 that a southern team, Cardiff City, won the Welsh Cup for the first time.
The winning team qualifies to play in the following season's UEFA Conference League (previously teams qualified for the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, which was discontinued in 1999, and until 2021, qualified for the UEFA Europa League).

Our History
Carno Football Club is an amateur Welsh football team based in the village of Carno. The team competes in the Central Wales Northern Division.

The club was formed in 1960 and began life in the Montgomeryshire Amateur League, eventually winning it in the 1966–67 season (no promotion). Carno bounced between Divisions One and Two until joining the Mid Wales League Division 2 in 1982, picking up a Montgomeryshire Amateur League Cup along the way. Carno lifted the Montgomeryshire Cup for the first time in 1983. 1983–84 saw the Mid Wales League merge into one division but a failure to adapt saw Carno drift back to the Montgomeryshire Amateur League Division Two by the 1985–86 season. A bounce-back promotion and a league title in the 1987–88 season led to promotion back to the Mid Wales League. Carno then reached new heights as they were founding members of the new Cymru Alliance in 1990–91. In 1995–96 Carno were relegated to the Mid Wales League. Carno claimed their first Mid Wales League Cup and were crowned Mid Wales League Champions as the millennium drew to a close. By the 2005–06 season fortunes had changed and Carno finished rock bottom (no relegation). Better times were to come, league positions improved and the club secured their second Montgomeryshire Cup victory in 2007–08 and their third in the 2013–14 season. In the 2015/16 season Carno reached the last 8 of the FAW Trophy, semi-final stages of both the Radnorshire Cup and League Cup and lifted the Central Wales Challenge Cup for the first time. Carno also competed in a second final and third consecutive Montgomeryshire Cup Final. For the second consecutive year they were defeated in the final by Llanfair United FC. In 2022 the club was relegated to Tier 4, ending the run as the team with the most consequent seasons in Tier 3.

From their first game Carno have played at the Recreational Ground now commonly known as Ty Brith. History shows however that originally the ground had been known as "The Gay Meadow". The ground is located in the village itself.
