This involves dealing with issues of Domestic Violence.

What work we will undertake for you?

We can undertake work in relation to the following for you.

Advise you in relation to your rights and entitlements in relation to your protection from Domestic Violence, or how to defend yourself in light of an allegation of the same.

Negotiate with the other party to try and reach an agreement in relation to preventing Domestic Violence continuing, or defending yourself against allegations in relation to the same.

Advise you in relation to the Orders you are able to apply for and the Orders the Court can make, or opposing the same.

Represent you at Court, if necessary because an agreement cannot be reached.

Daft, or advise on, the proposed agreement and/or Order of the Court.

Work expected to be carried out in this transaction but not included.

Time frame

This can vary from case to case and depends on how easily an agreement can be reached. We will advise you in relation to this at the initial meeting and subsequently throughout the matter.

Fees

All work in relation to domestic violence is charged as follows.

The Solicitor representing you may agree a fixed fee with you in relation to a simple Application, or defence of the same (no negotiations). The fixed fee agreed will be exclusive of VAT.

A charge for all work undertaken in relation to this matter will be carried out at our standard rates.

Legal Aid

Legal Aid may be available depending on means and merits if there is written evidence of domestic violence.

Matter Specific Disbursements

Barristers fee – dependant on the barristers level of experience. All fees will attract VAT – this will be discussed with you if the need for a barrister arises.
